Strawberries,
grown year-round

AKAR Farm is building climate-controlled strawberry container farms in Indonesia — so sweet, fresh strawberries can be grown close to the city, in any season.

Why grow strawberries in a container farm?

Strawberries normally need cool highland climates. A container farm recreates the right conditions anywhere, with full control over light, temperature, humidity and nutrients.

Controlled climate

Temperature, humidity and CO₂ are held in the ideal range for flowering and fruiting, independent of the weather outside.

Harvest all year

No off-season: production is planned for steady, predictable supply to retailers, hotels and restaurants.

IoT monitoring

Sensors track every unit in real time on the AKAR monitoring dashboard, with alerts and daily reports.

Grown close to you

Containers can be placed near the market, cutting transport time so strawberries arrive fresher.

20 ft and 40 ft container farms

We are developing two container sizes so growers and partners can start small or scale up. Each unit combines vertical growing racks, horticultural LED lighting, climate control and AKAR's IoT sensor system.

  • Pesticide-free growing in a closed environment
  • Recirculating irrigation that saves water and nutrients
  • Remote monitoring of temperature, humidity, VPD and nutrient levels
  • Operated with support from AKAR agronomists
